Short answer: BetOnline paid us faster than any other book we've tested. We asked for $84 in Bitcoin on a Wednesday morning; BetOnline approved it 4 hours 25 minutes later, and the coins were in our wallet 27 minutes after that. 4 hours 52 minutes, request to wallet, a fifth or less of the time Bovada, BetUS and MyBookie took.
That's one withdrawal, and we'll say so wherever it matters. Everything else in this review comes from BetOnline's own terms, rules and help centre, quoted where the wording counts.

What we did, and what happened
The same round trip we run at every book we rank: deposit about $100, play it through once with no bonus, withdraw what's left, and write down the time of every step.

Three things stand out.
Even at the fastest book, the review was most of the wait. 4 h 25 m of the 4 h 52 m was BetOnline deciding to pay; the Bitcoin took 27 minutes. BetOnline's own aim is modest ("we strive to have your transaction processed within 24 hours"), and it beat that comfortably. We'd already completed identity verification, so no documents were requested. Your first withdrawal may not be as quick if they are.
The card failure was real, and unexplained. The first Visa Debit attempt was declined outright: no charge, no hold in the banking app, no reason. The same card went through fifteen minutes later. US banks decline many offshore gambling transactions, so this isn't unusual, but it's worth knowing before you assume your card is blocked. When it went through, the bank was debited exactly $100: no BetOnline fee, and no cash-advance or international charge.
A waiting rule that could have applied, and didn't. BetOnline's withdrawal rules say: "In certain cases, a minimum 3-calendar-day waiting period may be required following deposits made with credit, debit, or prepaid cards prior to requesting a withdrawal." We deposited by debit card on Tuesday afternoon and had the money back on Wednesday afternoon. "In certain cases" evidently didn't include ours, but if you deposit by card, plan as if it might. BetUS, by contrast, states a flat 72-hour hold after any credit card deposit.
We played the deposit through on slots because BetOnline requires it: "All deposited funds must be wagered (rolled-over) 1x (one time) prior to withdrawal." The cashier is shared between the sportsbook and the casino, so it doesn't matter where you wager it.
Is BetOnline legit?
Does it pay?+
In our test, yes, and quickly. BetOnline says its team "has been working together since 1991", which in this market is as long a record as anyone claims.
Is it licensed the way a US sportsbook is?+
No. The operating company, Blue High House S.A., is licensed by Panama's gaming control board, and BetOnline's rules state that "All wagers and other transactions will be taken into account as if they are originated from Panama City, Panama." It holds no US state licence. The practical consequence is the same as at every offshore book: if a withdrawal goes wrong, there's no US regulator to complain to. Where BetOnline is available
This is where BetOnline differs most from Bovada. BetOnline's terms list the countries it won't accept customers from (among them the United Kingdom, France, Australia and Panama itself), and no US state or territory appears on that list. Two cautions:
- Accepted isn't the same as legal. Washington State isn't restricted by BetOnline, but its law (RCW 9.46.240) makes online gambling a class C felony for the player. Details →
- The list can change. Offshore books have been leaving states under regulatory pressure through 2026. Check the terms before you deposit, not after.

How BetOnline withdrawals work
The rules
From BetOnline's own withdrawal rules and requirements:
- Wager every deposit once first. And if you don't: "Players who choose to withdraw prior to completing the required rollover will incur payout processing fees regardless of the payout method."
- No withdrawals with a free bet pending. "You will not be allowed to submit a withdrawal request when there is a pending free bet." If you've claimed
FREE250, use or lose the free bet before asking for money. - Documents can be requested. Photo ID, a proof-of-address document, and "Copies of the front and back of all credit cards used to deposit." Verify early and it won't hold up your first payout.
- Some methods run on business hours. "Certain withdrawal methods are subject to the service provider's operating hours and are processed Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. ET to 1:00 p.m. ET."
- After card deposits, a 3-calendar-day wait "may be required" in certain cases; after e-check deposits, "a minimum of 7 business days" from the last deposit.

Fees scale with the withdrawal amount. All crypto is stated at "Within 24 hours", and BetOnline lists the request frequency for crypto as "Unlimited".

These are slow and expensive next to crypto. Wire and cheque are limited to one request a week.
Deposits
Crypto deposits start at $20, go up to $500,000 for Bitcoin and $100,000 for other coins, and BetOnline states it "does not charge fees for cryptocurrency deposits", though your wallet or exchange may.
Our card deposit carried no BetOnline fee: the bank took exactly $100. We haven't found BetOnline's card fee policy stated as a rule on its own pages, so we'll report what happened to us and no more.

BetOnline is built for people who bet in size.

The detail sharp bettors look for: "Once a specific limit has been reached, it can re-bet every time the odds move and/or every 61 seconds."
The minimum bet is $1 online ($25 by phone).
But note the payout ceilings. "All parlays will pay up to a maximum of $150,000," and "the maximum amount a player can win in a 24hour period is $250,000." Bovada's stated sportsbook maximum is $1,000,000 per payout. BetOnline takes big bets; it caps what a single day can pay.
BetOnline, like every offshore book, "reserves the right to limit or refuse any wager prior to its acceptance." We haven't measured when it limits winners, so we won't guess.
Rules worth knowing
- Parlays: a push "reduces to the next lower number, e.g. a four-team parlay becomes a three-team parlay." You can't play both sides of the same game in one parlay. Live parlays are capped at five legs and can't be built from one game.
- Live betting: "All lines determined to have been available past post will be settled 'No Action'." Live full-game bets need the game to go the distance; if it ends early, they're graded no action.
- Obvious errors: BetOnline reserves the right "to correct obvious errors and to No-Action your wager."
What we haven't checked yet: line pricing. We haven't compared BetOnline's prices with other books on the same fixtures. For a regular bettor that matters more than any bonus, and it's on our list.
The FREE250 welcome offer
50% of your first deposit as a free bet, up to $250, plus 100 free spins. Minimum deposit $10. No rollover.
BetOnline's help centre attaches the code to its "No Strings Welcome Offer" and says it plainly: "There are no rollover requirements for this bonus." That's rare, but read the next sentence too: "Only winnings from Free Bets convert to cash, while the original Free Bet amount is not withdrawable."
So it isn't $250 of cash. It's a free bet, and a free bet's stake stays with the book (why that halves its value →):

Where you can use it: "For Football, Basketball, Soccer, and Tennis: Usable only on spreads and totals. For Baseball and Hockey: Usable only on moneyline and totals with maximum odds of +125. For MMA and Boxing: Usable only on moneylines with max odds of -200 for favorites and +125 for underdogs."
The free spins: 10 a day for 10 days, starting within 24 hours of the deposit. Each day's spins "expire within 24 hours of being issued," and "The maximum win amount from Free Spins is $100" (in total, not per spin).
The free bet credit expires after 30 days. The offer is for players in North America, one per customer.
One clause to check if you deposit less than $50. BetOnline's withdrawal requirements also bar a withdrawal of winnings from a sportsbook "Promotional Free Bet prior to making a minimum deposit of $50 and roll this over at least once (1x)." The sentence is ambiguous and may refer to a different promotion than FREE250. If you're claiming with the $10 minimum, ask support how it applies before you count on withdrawing the free-bet winnings.

Here's what BetOnline's own terms tell you can go wrong:
- Your card is declined, as ours was once, for no stated reason.
- You pay fees for withdrawing too early if you haven't wagered your deposit once.
- Your withdrawal is blocked while a free bet is pending.
- A card deposit triggers a 3-day wait, "in certain cases".
- Your bet is limited or refused, or voided as an obvious error or a past-post live bet.
- A big parlay or a big day is capped at $150,000 and $250,000.
- There's no US regulator if a dispute goes badly.
